The UCA University is glade to announce the 19th TEM-UCA Summer Workshop “ “Transmission Electron Microscopy of Nanomaterials”s”, 16 – 20 September, 2019, in Cádiz. The workshop is devoted to review the advancements of Transmission Electron Microscopy, both imaging and spectroscopic techniques, and the characterization of a wide range of nanomaterials. The Workshop, limited to a maximum of 20 attendees, is sold out. Registration for waiting list is open at: http://www2.uca.es/dept/cmat_qinor/catalisis/tem-uca/index_school.html
Lectures
Several Speakers will illustrate how TEM techniques as High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy, High Angle Annular Dark Field imaging, Electron Tomography, Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy, and Cs corrected S/TEM studies can be combined to obtain structural and chemical information of the analysed materials at the atomic scale. Some examples illustrate the practical aspects of nanomaterials characterization and its applications in different fields.
Practical Labs
The participants will be divided in 2 groups to participate at computer labs in which they will get trained in the practical use of different software applications in the field of TEM. The topics covered in these computers labs are: High Resolution Electron Microscopy (HREM), Image Processing and Image Simulations. Modelling of Nanoparticles, Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS), X-Ray Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX) and Electron Tomography.
The summer workshop is organized by Department of Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering and Inorganic Chemistry and ELECMI.
